Blockchain and smart contracts

Private blockchains for traceability, smart contracts, and integration with company systems

I have been working with blockchain for several years, with a particular focus on private and consortium blockchains for traceability, in contexts where several companies need to share a ledger that none of them controls on its own.

Areas of work

  • Preliminary assessment of whether a blockchain is actually needed. In many cases a database with a good audit system solves the same problem with less complexity, and when that happens I point it out.
  • Private blockchains with Hyperledger Besu or Quorum: design of the network, the nodes, the permissions, and the governance among participants.
  • Smart contracts with Solidity and OpenZeppelin, developed and tested with Hardhat, with attention to security and contract upgradeability.
  • Integration with existing systems: NestJS backends that read from and write to the blockchain, web interfaces for consulting the ledger, document notarization.

Completed projects

I have built quality traceability ledgers for production supply chains and, in the nutrition sector, formulation and warehouse management systems with data notarized on blockchain. I have also developed a private blockchain template for document tracking, which I use as the basis for new projects.

Training

I teach two blockchain courses: the introductory one covers the theoretical foundations, Ethereum, and Solidity; the advanced one covers smart contract security and private blockchains.
